Lindsey joined Hornbill Systems Limited in July 2007 in the newly created role of Chief Financial Officer. Lindsey will lead Hornbill’s Finance and Human Resources teams, providing financial information to our employees, managers and the Board. He will be responsible for installing effective management information systems and for working with the senior managers and Directors to plan and execute Hornbill’s continued growth.

With a strong knowledge of US and UK GAAP, Lindsey has been responsible for budgets ranging from $10 million to $100 million. He has experience in all aspects of financial forecasting, resource allocation, fund management, accounting and control.

From 2002 until 2007 Lindsey was the Chief Financial Officer for The Neverfail Group and led the company’s Finance and Internal IT teams. During his time at Neverfail he oversaw a number of funding rounds and saw the Company’s software revenues grow from zero to several million dollars per year.

From 2000 until 2001, Lindsey was the European Finance Director for Great Plains Software Inc., and following the acquisition of Great Plains by Microsoft in early 2001 was the European Finance Director for the Microsoft Business Solutions Division until 2002 when he left to join Neverfail.

During the Microsoft acquisition of Great Plains, Lindsey was responsible for the due diligence for the European operations. Subsequent to the acquisition Lindsey led several teams that reviewed options for growing the division in Europe, including a number of potential acquisitions. Lindsey played a key role in the senior team the Business Solutions Division put together to integrate Great Plains’ systems into Microsoft’s corporate infrastructure.

From 1996 until 2000, Lindsey was the Finance Director for Great Plains Software (UK) LLC where he managed the finance and legal teams.

From 1987 to 1995 Lindsey worked for two accounting firms. Initially he had a broad range of work whilst training for professional qualifications latterly he specialized in IT systems and business planning.

Lindsey was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics from London University in 1984. He became a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales in 1992.
